I didn’t close my suitcase after doing some packing last night, and now Willoughby is snoozing in it.

They do! Well, they tolerate each other. They don’t really fight, although they get into a small tussle every now and then. They don’t really like sharing, but luckily for them, there are two of us to love on them. Sometimes they curl up together, too, but I wouldn’t call them friends. I wouldn’t call them enemies either, though.
The cats have already gotten into a tussle today and Iago tried so persistently to eat my cereal that I ended up spilling milk down my shirt while trying to get away. I don’t know if there’s a cat equivalent of the full moon, but whatever it is, it’s occurring today.
After I got up and made sure the door was locked, Wills followed me through the apartment as I headed to the bedroom, hunkered down and sneaking as if maybe I wouldn’t notice he was there. Is there a bounty on my head? Should I be worried? I’m afraid to sleep.
The kits were largely unimpressed with my rendition of “Run and Tell That” just now. I get that there’s a certain…ironic element to my performance, but I’m in such a Hairspray mood today and they are being such buzzkills.
Sometimes the cats like to sniff around her cage and see what the tiny little thing’s up to, but mostly they ignore her.
Typical of cats to do things on their own schedules.

I dragged a cardboard box (from when I moved) out of the closet and set it up in the middle of the living room. First I put Wills in it and he immediately jumped out and ran away. Then I tried to put Iago in it, and he starfished until I forced his paws in, and he walked in a circle before jumping out. Then I put Scout inside and she ran up to the side to sniff it, then kind of looked around, bored.
Then I put Kurt insi —
Kidding.
My hypothesis was correct: Our pets were unimpressed with the box.
Willoughby is in a catnip-induced coma (or just taking a nap), Iago is cradling the toy like he’s protecting an egg, and Scout remains oblivious to all the hullabaloo.
I’m an enabler. I’ve enabled our babies.
